Section 38.3 of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: a series of eight tests a lithium cell or battery design must pass before it can be transported as dangerous goods.
The eight tests (T.1 to T.8) simulate transport conditions: altitude, thermal cycling, vibration, shock, external short circuit, impact or crush, overcharge and forced discharge. The pass criteria include no fire, no rupture, no disassembly and no leakage. Carriers and forwarders normally ask for the UN38.3 test summary for any product with a built-in or packed lithium battery.
Check that the test summary names the exact battery model and rating (Wh or lithium content) used in your product; a report for a different cell does not count. See sea vs air vs rail vs express shipping.
