Pingxiang County in Xingtai, Hebei, had over 4,800 bicycle and children's-vehicle makers and earned 22.95 billion yuan in revenue from the industry in 2023. It turns out about 145 million bicycles, children's vehicles and electric toys a year, which Xinhua puts at 50% of China's domestic market and 40% of the international market. - Most products are children's items, so compliance comes first: EN 71 and EN 14765 (children's bicycles) or EN 1888 (strollers) for Europe; CPSIA, ASTM F963 and 16 CFR 1512 for the US. Many small factories cannot provide valid reports, so shortlist suppliers who can.
