Country of origin marking

Also known as: COO marking, Made in China marking, origin marking, 원산지 표시

The legal requirement to mark imported goods or their containers with the English name of the country where they were made, such as "Made in China", so the final buyer can see it.

In the US, CBP rules (19 CFR Part 134) require every article of foreign origin, or its container, to be marked legibly, indelibly and permanently in a conspicuous place, in a way that shows the ultimate purchaser the English name of the country of origin. The EU, UK and Korea have their own origin-labeling rules for certain goods.

Put the exact marking text and position in your purchase order and packaging artwork, and check it during inspection. Missing or removable marking can delay clearance or force relabeling at your cost. See custom packaging from China.
