KC certification
Also known as: KC mark, Korea Certification, KC 인증
South Korea's mandatory product-safety conformity system, shown by the KC mark, under which manufacturers or importers must certify covered electrical, household and children's products before shipment or customs clearance.
Under Korea's Electrical Appliances and Consumer Products Safety Control Act, covered products fall into three levels: safety certification (product testing plus factory inspection by a certification body), safety confirmation (testing by a designated lab, then a report), and supplier's declaration of conformity. Children's products have a parallel system under a separate act. The obligation sits with the Korean importer, and the KC mark and number must be shown on the product or packaging.
A Chinese factory's CE certificate does not replace KC. Check the certification number on Korea's Product Safety Information Center (safetykorea.kr) before relying on it. See CE, UKCA, FCC and CPC product certifications.
