Jinjiang, a county-level city under Quanzhou, turned out more than 1 billion pairs of sports shoes a year and its footwear and apparel sector passed RMB 300 billion in output for the first time in 2022, according to Xinhua. Chendai town alone packs thousands of shoe factories and material suppliers into under 40 square kilometres, and home-grown brands such as Anta grew out of this OEM base. Nearby Dongshi town is China's umbrella capital, producing over 700 million umbrellas in 2025, while Nan'an's Shuitou district (also in Quanzhou) is a major stone-processing centre. For buyers this means a full footwear and textile supply chain, from outsoles and knit uppers to finished sneakers, within a short drive.

Buyer tips
- Footwear MOQs are usually set per colourway and split across a size run (often around 500-1,200 pairs per style/colour); factories making for global brands will quote higher MOQs and prices than the many smaller Chendai workshops, so ask which lines and which certifications a quote is based on.
- Test sneakers and sportswear for EU REACH restricted substances (azo dyes, DMFu, phthalates, chromium VI in leather) and, for children's shoes sold in the US, CPSIA lead and phthalate limits; ask for recent third-party reports matched to the exact material, not a generic factory certificate.
- Confirm the last and size grading for your market (US, EU and UK sizing differ) with a full size-set sample before bulk production; fit problems are the most common cause of returns for private-label sneakers.
- Dongshi umbrella makers have ready stock frames and low MOQs for logo printing, but check wind-resistance, rib material (fibreglass vs steel) and whether water-repellent coatings are PFAS-free, as several US states and the EU are restricting PFAS in textiles.

Port-to-port, in days. Door-to-door adds inland haulage, customs and final delivery. Most Asia–North Europe services still sail around the Cape of Good Hope; the range assumes that routing. Some services are returning to Suez from September 2026, which shortens the trip to about the “via Suez” figure.
