Qingdao's smart home-appliance industry exceeded 300 billion yuan in 2023, anchored by Haier and Hisense and a large base of component suppliers. Its districts host their own clusters: Jimo has more than 2,000 children's clothing firms making nearly 300 million garments a year, and Jiaozhou's wig makers claim close to 70% of the global high-end human-hair wig market. Qingdao is also a tyre centre and one of the world's largest container ports, which makes it a natural export gateway for much of Shandong.

- Appliance buyers rarely deal with Haier or Hisense directly at small volumes; look at the second-tier OEM/ODM factories and component suppliers around them, and confirm CE/UKCA, UL/ETL, ERP energy labelling and refrigerant rules for your market.
- For children's clothing from Jimo, require CPSIA (US) or EN 14682 drawstring and REACH testing; factories range from export-grade to domestic-only, so ask for recent export shipment references.
- Human-hair wigs vary greatly in hair origin and processing (Remy vs non-Remy, cuticle direction); order physical samples and check for synthetic fibre blending before scaling up.
