During production inspection
Also known as: DPI, DUPRO, In-line inspection, 中期验货, 생산 중 검사
A quality check carried out while mass production is under way, usually once part of the order is finished, to catch defects early enough to correct the rest of the run.
The inspector samples finished and semi-finished units, compares them with the golden sample, and checks materials, workmanship, production progress and whether the ship date is realistic. Finding a wrong colour or a recurring defect at this stage is far cheaper than discovering it at the pre-shipment inspection, when everything is already made and packed.
It is worth adding for new suppliers, new products, large orders or tight deadlines. It does not replace the final inspection. See the pre-shipment inspection checklist.
