Guangzhou Liuhua / Zhanxi Clothing Wholesale Area

The Liuhua area grew up in the late 1980s beside Guangzhou Railway Station and the old Canton Fair site, and today holds more than 40 clothing wholesale markets, including Baima, Hongmian (Red Cotton) International Fashion City and the Zhanxi Road buildings. It is generally a step up in quality and price from Shahe and is heavily used by foreign buyers and boutique owners. It suits fashion retailers and online brands looking for trend styles with some possibility of custom labels. Minimums are usually per style and per colour, and many showrooms can arrange small custom runs.

Buyer tips

  • Start at the larger malls (e.g. Baima, Hongmian) to benchmark price and quality, then compare in Zhanxi Road buildings.
  • Ask whether a stall is the maker; some will produce with your label if quantities are met.
  • Photographing products is often discouraged — ask before taking pictures.
  • Plan shipping through a forwarder who consolidates from multiple stalls; many operate right in the area.

Getting there

Metro Lines 2 and 5 to Guangzhou Railway Station (广州火车站) or Line 2 to Yuexiu Park (越秀公园); the markets are within walking distance.
