China Textile City (Keqiao, Shaoxing)

China Textile City grew out of a small fabric street market; its expanded market opened in October 1988 and it took the 'China Textile City' name in 1992. Today it spreads across many zones — including the old Dongsheng Road market, East, North and United markets, curtain and home-textile markets — and is widely described as Asia's largest fabric trading hub. It suits clothing brands, home-textile makers and designers who need fabric by the roll, as well as sampling by the metre. Suppliers typically give hanger samples or swatches free and quote minimums per colour for production dyeing.

Buyer tips

  • Bring reference fabric or detailed specs (composition, gsm, width) — there are tens of thousands of fabric types.
  • Stock fabric can be bought in smaller lengths; custom colours usually require a dye-lot minimum.
  • Ask for lab-dip approval before bulk dyeing and check colour fastness if exporting.
  • Keqiao lies between Hangzhou and Shaoxing, so it is easy to combine with a Hangzhou or Yiwu trip.

Taxi from Hangzhou or Shaoxing (Keqiao sits between the two); Shaoxing North high-speed rail station is the nearest major station.
