Yiwu International Trade City — District 1
义乌国际商贸城一区
District 1 was the first building of the modern Trade City, opening in October 2002, and is still the go-to hall for toys, artificial flowers, fashion jewelry and gift/craft items. The operator says more than 70% of what is sold here goes for export, so most stall-holders are used to dealing with foreign buyers and quoting export cartons. Ground-floor toy and flower stalls suit shop owners and e-commerce sellers mixing many SKUs, while the 4th-floor showrooms are run by manufacturers and suit buyers planning larger or custom orders. Booths usually quote a per-style minimum (often by the carton), hand out catalogues and name cards freely, and ask for a deposit before production on made-to-order items.

Buyer tips
- Toys and Christmas/seasonal décor sell out and change fastest in the second half of the year; visit before the autumn trade fairs if you plan Q4 stock.
- On the 4th floor you are more often talking to a factory; ask for factory address and production capacity if you want OEM or custom packaging.
- Photograph each booth's number sign together with the product and price — booth numbers are the easiest way to reorder later.
- Toys sold into the EU, UK or US need safety testing (e.g. EN 71, ASTM F963/CPC); ask whether the supplier already holds reports before ordering.
Getting there
Take the Jinyi-Dong light-rail line to International Trade City station (opened Nov 2022), next to the market. From Yiwu railway station, bus 801 runs direct to the Trade City (confirm on arrival; routes change).
