District 5 opened on 5 May 2011 and mixes two very different worlds: the ground-floor Import Commodities Mall, where foreign goods are sold into China, and upper floors for bedding, curtains and fabrics, wigs and hair products, pet supplies, wedding décor and car accessories. It suits home-textile importers, pet-product sellers, hair/wig traders and auto-accessory distributors. Fabric and curtain booths often sell by the metre or roll with sample swatches available on the spot. The 5th floor houses e-commerce services rather than product stalls.

Buyer tips
- For fabrics and bedding, ask for colour cards and physical swatches, and confirm width, weight (gsm) and fibre content in writing.
- Hair products range from synthetic to human hair — ask for exact composition and get it stated on the invoice.
- Pet food and some imported foods have strict import rules in most countries; focus on non-food pet accessories unless you have the licences.
- District 5 is at the east end of the Trade City, next to the newer Global Digital Trade Center — combine the two in one day.
Getting there
Within the Trade City complex at its eastern end. Buses such as 109, 11, 12 and 31 are listed for District 5 (confirm current routes); free market shuttle lines have run between the Trade City and the railway station.
