Shunde district in Foshan produces roughly 15% of China's home appliances, with more than 3,000 appliance makers and suppliers, according to figures reported in early 2024. Foshan is also home to Lecong, a furniture trading town of more than 180 furniture malls covering over 4 million square metres, and to the Nanzhuang/Chancheng ceramics base, where locally made building ceramics accounted for about 11% of national output in 2023. It is a go-to city for sourcing an entire home: appliances, furniture, tiles and fittings within an hour of each other.

Buyer tips
- Lecong malls are mainly showrooms and traders; pick finished pieces there, then insist on seeing the factory (often in Longjiang, Shunde or neighbouring cities) and check carcass materials, not just finishes.
- Appliances for the US or EU need UL/ETL or CE (LVD/EMC), ErP energy labelling and RoHS; Shunde OEMs can supply this, but certificates must list your model number and brand or you will need re-testing.
- Tiles vary a lot by batch: specify size calibre, shade code and water absorption (e.g. ISO 13006 / EN 14411 class) and keep a signed master sample; order all tiles for one project from a single production run.
- Mixed-container consolidation of furniture, tiles and fittings is common here; heavy tiles plus bulky furniture need careful load planning to stay within container weight limits.
