China (Danyang) Glasses City

Danyang in Jiangsu is China's biggest lens-making base and a major eyewear cluster, and its Glasses City, in use since 2006, gathers frame, lens, accessory and equipment sellers opposite the railway station. A second, International Glasses City opened next door in 2014. It suits optical retailers, eyewear brands and online sellers of frames and sunglasses. Many sellers can supply both stock frames and custom-branded production with factory partners nearby.

Buyer tips
- Sunglasses need UV/filter category testing for most markets; ask for reports.
- Specify frame material (acetate, metal, TR90) and hinge type; prices vary widely.
- Its station-side location makes it an easy half-day trip on the Shanghai–Nanjing high-speed line.
Getting there
High-speed or regular train to Danyang station on the Shanghai–Nanjing line; the market is directly opposite.
