China Textile City in Keqiao recorded total turnover of RMB 400.99 billion in 2024, the first year it passed the RMB 400 billion mark, up 11.09% year on year. Local reporting credits the market with roughly a quarter of global fabric trading volume. Keqiao is a fabric sourcing hub rather than a finished-garment cluster, and it suits brands and garment factories that want to choose base cloth, prints and finishes directly from thousands of stalls, backed by the surrounding weaving and dyeing mills.

Buyer tips
- Most stalls are traders holding stock or agents for mills; ask whether they weave and dye in-house or subcontract, because colour consistency between lots depends on who controls the dye house.
- Stock fabrics can often be bought by the roll, while custom colours or prints usually need a mill-level MOQ per colourway (commonly a few thousand metres); negotiate lab dips and strike-offs before bulk.
- Specify tests up front: colourfastness, shrinkage, pilling, GSM and composition. For EU sales ask for REACH/azo-dye compliance or OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certificates, and verify certificate numbers online.
- Fabric width, weight tolerance and roll length vary between suppliers; write them into the PO and inspect a sample of rolls (for example a 4-point system) before shipment.
